Why Does My Car's Air Conditioning Feel Warm?

You know how annoying it is when driving on hot days and your car A/C blows warm air. You can't get cool. You are sweating. Least, not about anything but a spoilt summer fun.

A car A/C is one of the essential components in your vehicle. If it feels warm, there might be several different reasons. Here are some of the common ones:

Leaked Refrigerant

A car A/C blowing can feel warm as a result of leaked refrigerant. Refrigerant is a liquid that circulates in your car's A/c system, contracting and expanding to eliminate humidity and heat from the cabin. If the refrigerant isn't pressurized well, it can turn into gas. So, you can imagine how easily it can disappear from the vehicle.

Several reasons can cause refrigerant leaks, including worn valves, punctured evaporators, or loose joints. If you identify a refrigerant leak, contact an expert technician as soon as possible.

Faulty or Broken Condenser

The work of the condenser is to cool down the hot refrigerant back to normal temperature as it passes via the compressor. If the condenser gets blocked or broken, you will be covered by a blast of hot air. To identify a faulty condenser, look through the grate. If you are less on ideas, you might want to call a professional for help.

Faulty Wiring

Faulty or poor wiring can prevent the A/C from functioning well. These issues do happen, although they are hard to identify. If you suspect you may have faulty wiring, drive your car to a local expert near you for assistance.

Broken Compressor

A broken compressor can also cause your A/C to blow warm air. In fact, a compressor is a component responsible for circulating the refrigerant throughout the entire system. If it is broken or does not function properly, your car may be blowing warm air.

Problems with the compressor most happen when it has not been used for a long time. To ensure your compressor is in a good condition, it is advisable to run it for 10-15 minutes once a month. Newer cars have made it even easier because all you need is to activate it under the defrost setting.
